Systems have become more powerful and more complex. Software has taken on an increasingly important role, development cycles have become shorter, and the requirements for reliability, security and quality continue to grow.

At the same time, the tools and technologies available to embedded development teams have evolved enormously.

Our portfolio has evolved with them.
And now our website has evolved too.

A new Carnica Technology Website -

Over the past months, we have completely redesigned and restructured the Carnica Technology website.

Our goal was not simply to give it a new look. We wanted to make it easier for you to find the technologies, tools and expertise you need for your embedded project — not primarily by product or manufacturer, but by what you want to achieve.

Whether you are starting a new development, debugging a complex target system, analysing its real-time behaviour, automating software tests or preparing devices for production, the new website provides a clear place to start.

And, of course, if you already know exactly which product you are looking for, you can still get there directly.

Your Embedded Development Lifecycle 
An embedded product does not emerge from a single development step.

Software has to be created, debugged and verified. Its behaviour needs to be understood under real-world conditions. Quality has to be demonstrated through systematic testing. And eventually, the finished software has to be programmed reliably into production devices.

We have therefore organised the main solution areas of our new website around six activities:

These are not intended to represent a rigid development model. Every organisation has its own processes, and individual activities naturally overlap.

Instead, they provide six clear entry points into the Carnica Technology portfolio.

DEVELOP - DEBUG - VERIFY
 
A successful embedded product starts with a solid software foundation.

🔵 DEVELOP
 
Professional development environments help engineers create and maintain embedded applications efficiently, while an RTOS and proven middleware components can eliminate the need to develop standard functionality from scratch.

Our DEVELOPMENT solutions cover professional development tools, real-time operating systems and ready-to-use software components for areas such as communication, file systems, graphics and connectivity.

The objective is simple: spend less engineering time reinventing infrastructure and more time developing the functionality that makes your product different.
 
🟡 DEBUG

Sooner or later, every development reaches the point where the software does not behave quite as expected.

Finding the reason quickly requires reliable access to the target system and tools that allow developers to investigate what is actually happening inside it.

Professional debug and trace probes provide this connection between development environment and target hardware. They support efficient programming and debugging and help developers identify problems without unnecessarily disrupting the system under investigation.

From everyday debugging to demanding embedded applications, the right tools can considerably shorten the journey from “something is wrong” to “now I know why.”
 
🟢 VERIFY

Traditional source-level debugging is indispensable — but it cannot always show the complete dynamic behaviour of a real-time system.

Which tasks are executing? When do interrupts occur? How do different activities interact? Are timing relationships behaving as expected?

Runtime visualisation and analysis tools such as SEGGER SystemView provide developers with deeper insight into these aspects of an embedded application during development and verification.

This additional perspective can reveal timing problems, unexpected interactions and other behaviour that may be difficult to recognise by stepping through source code alone.
 
  


 
 








Beyond Traditional Verification:
🟠 CONTINUOUS OBSERVABILITY
 
As embedded systems become more complex, connected and software-driven, understanding their behaviour only during individual debugging or verification sessions is increasingly no longer enough.

This is where Continuous Observability starts.

The idea is to maintain insight into the behaviour of embedded software throughout integration, testing and operation — and to feed what we learn from the running system back into the development process.

In other words, Continuous Observability is not simply another step that follows verification.

It forms an overarching feedback loop.

Percepio's observability technologies address different parts of this process.

Tracealyzer provides powerful visual runtime analysis that helps developers understand complex real-time software behaviour in depth.

Detect continuously monitors RTOS-based embedded software for stability risks and captures diagnostic information when relevant problems occur.

DevAlert extends observability beyond the development laboratory by bringing diagnostic information from remote testing and deployed devices back to the development organisation.

Together, these technologies can extend visibility from development and integration through testing and into operation.

The result is a continuous flow of information: observe what the system is actually doing, identify problems and changes earlier, learn from them — and use those insights to improve the product.

TEST - PRODUCE
 
Finding a defect during debugging is one thing. Demonstrating systematically that software behaves as required is another.

Reliable embedded software requires repeatable and reproducible testing — particularly when products are developed for safety-related applications or according to defined software development standards.

Automated testing solutions such as Razorcat TESSY help development teams create, execute and manage software tests, perform unit and integration testing, measure code coverage and document test results.

Automation makes it possible to repeat tests whenever software changes and helps turn testing from an occasional activity into an integral part of the development process.

The result is not merely more testing, but greater confidence in the software being delivered.
 
🟣 PRODUCE
 
At some point, development is complete and the product has to leave the laboratory.

The software that developers have created, debugged, analysed and tested must now be programmed reliably into real devices — often hundreds, thousands or many more of them.

Production programming therefore has different requirements from development programming. Speed, repeatability, automation and process reliability become increasingly important.

Professional production programmers provide the bridge from the development environment to series manufacturing and help ensure that the correct software reaches every device efficiently and reliably.
 


 
 











Professional Tools are only Part of the Solution
 
A development tool can be excellent and still not be the right tool for a particular project.

Target architecture, operating system, development environment, existing toolchain, technical requirements, development processes and commercial considerations all influence the decision.

And increasingly, individual tools cannot be considered in isolation.

Most importantly, I hope the new structure makes it easier to start with your project and your requirements, rather than having to know in advance which product or manufacturer provides the answer.

A website, of course, is never truly finished. Products evolve, technologies change and new challenges emerge.

The same is true of embedded development.

We will therefore continue to develop the website along with the technologies and solutions we offer.
